The National Trust at Brean Down has announced a series of free guided tours for visitors this summer.

History enthusiasts are being invited to explore the rich heritage and natural beauty of this iconic headland as volunteer historian and author Ian Blake leads a guided walk.

The National Trist says the free tour of Brean Down’s 10,000 years of history in 1.5 miles offers a “fascinating glimpse into the area’s archaeological and historical significance.”

Tour dates will be held on Saturday 19 July and Sunday 20 July from 10:30am to 12:30pm both days. Tours will continue as part of the Trust’s Heritage Open Days in the autumn on Saturday 20th September and Sunday 21st September from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

Throughout the summer, children also can take part in a self-led Nature Explorer Challenge. “With buckets, spades, and rock pooling nets available to borrow free of charge, young adventurers can enjoy hands-on learning and outdoor fun.”

Opening Hours are 5:00am – 7:00pm, the Cove Café is open 10:00am – 4:30pm (with extended evening hours during summer holidays), and parking is Free for National Trust members and £6 per day for non-members.
